Stars Without Number Revised Edition is ɡivinɡ the same feels I had back when Classic Traveller was first released and all there was were those little black books.

I feel the same way. I really liked the original SWN, but the Revised Edition is awesome.

+dansk macabre The new skill system is one of my favorite changes, but I like the fact that you can swap in the system from the original SWN if you don't like it.

My only concern is the paucity of skills at 1st level but that's easily amended.

+dansk macabre The fix I've come up with is to add the Drive, Navigate, and Tactics skills in, and split Know into Know (history) and Know (science). You might want to add an extra roll on the Skill table at the start of character generation, and maybe an extra skill point at levels 3 and 6 (and maybe 9) to account for the extra skills. Beast-riding should be under "Survive" in any case.

For foci, just have the foci apply to the new skills (Specialist/Pilot applies to Drive and Navigate as well, for example). For background skill tables, give the player the option to choose Drive or Navigate when Pilot comes up (for example).

Better still, you can just make up your own skill list, and modify the backgrounds to taste.
