What do we know about the Din culture that occupied northwestern Arcem in the days of the Former Empires?

Put briefly, the Ren believed that human perfection was in correctly-ordered society, the Akeh believed it was in individual excellence, and the Din believed it was in the shaping of the world around them. In cruder terms, the Ren created implacable patterns of forced virtue, the Akeh indulged in wild arcano-genetic personal transhumanism, and the Din built ineffable devices to exert their will on the world.
Of course, different Din groups expressed this in different ways, whether as the Geiger-esque AI-human god-hybrids of the Bleak Reach, or the temperate semi-Gernsbackianism of the proto-Bright Republic, or the pre-Howler civilization's attempt at reality-forming engineering. But as a general rule, the Din thought that every human problem was better solved with a tool than with a social law or a human alteration.
+Kevin Crawford that is fucking awesome! Thank you. I was wondering what aesthetic I could tap into for Bleak Reach ruin-delving.
+Kevin Crawford Man, I hope this kind of info gets saved somewhere due to the Google+ shutdown.
