I was going to kitbash a dnd ruleset for a game with a Guardians of the Galaxy (and to some extent wider MCU) feel to it but then I read this regarding the full SWN revised edition.

"Heroic PCs, for groups that want to trade the gritty, lethal tone of a standard campaign for classic space opera, with larger-than-life heroes and superhuman skills"

Now I gather that something similar to the Godbound damage system is in place, which I like, but I'd like to know a little more about whether "superhuman skills" would cover what I want to do.

Any thoughts please

The Heroes ruleset included in SWN revised is an evolution of the one inside Mandate Archive: Stellar Heroes which you can download and read for free, thanks to the magnanimous Mr. Crawford.

I think it's perfect for Guardian of the Galaxy if you stick to low to mid level superheroes (anyone from the movie is good, something like Nove can be trickier) and you can also use some transhuman rules for Groot.

I think you need very few adjustment to get where you want, imho.

Clarification: the Heroes ruleset is not inlcuded in SWN Revised free version, that's why I pointed you to the previous incarnation resource.

I think that the free version is awesome and a gift to humanity, but if you like the game I cannot convey how strongly I believe you must buy the complete one... if nothing else, to support the game.

Thanks for your help +Riccardo Caverni , it is a great little supplement. Some of those mechanics will work very well until I upgrade to revised edition. Cheers
