Is there an effective way to make the wealth system fair? Because magical vs real wealth is fine an all until a dragon comes in with a hoard of 10 real wealth. Which makes my god of Caverns and Artifce question what's the point of his wealth-related gifts cause they are incredibly weak in comparison. So I abolish the difference to try and make things fair, until said Artificer wants to use wealth from Treasures to make 1500 theotech servitors since magical wealth isn't a thing anymore, but if I make magical wealth a thing then my dragon god is stupidly powerful in that regard and if I make all wealth magical if generated that way what's the point of it in the first place.
yeah, I need more help on this than I thought. Wealth aside my Artifice godbound is claiming that 10,000 tools should be able to replicate the work of a master Theotechnican when others are arguing that it just says laborers, so I'm really stuck on how to rule this
And I still need help with this Wealth problem
To fully break it down. He wants to use Treasures of the Earth + 10,000 tools to make 1500 4HD Servitors from Master Theotechian. It says in the book that wealth gained this way cannot. But then he argues that it makes that gift, and the entire Wealth word completely obsolete compared to "Inexhaustiable Hoard" from the dragon word which is "Real" wealth. Which wouldn't be a problem if we didn't have a dragon god. Hence the first problem
Then another player argues that he shouldn't be able to do so in principal without dominion (cause he doesn't want to use dominion) because Artifice doesn't work with Theotech because it says 1000 laborers per level, not 1000 master theotechnicans per level. Which he says is bs.
So to avoid my discord chat further devovling into argument I said I would get the Word of God and solve the problem. so please help me T_T
A) Inexhaustible Hoard gives you your character level in "real" Wealth per week. Not 10 points, unless you're a 10th level dragon.
B) The only distinction in play between real and conjured Wealth is that the former is needed for a few magical purposes.
C) You are under no obligation to allow Gifts to boost magical processes. If Theotechnology takes a week to make a minor servitor, an Artificer's speed boost need not affect that in the slightest, because Words And Low Magic Don't Stack.
Thank you very much
I just let one of my PCs acquire the Hoard gift from the Dragon Word, since it is in fact a Wealth-related ability, though with the extra cost as per standard rules for related-but-not-actually-part-of-the-Word Gifts. As the party does include two other PCs who have the Theotechnician Low Magic path, the Wealth PC can now aid them in making things that need making.
