▶ Stars Without Number

Last Saturday we wrapped up our Stars Without Number 1st ed. open campaign y our roleplaying club. We had an explosive finale after 10 months of weekly games.

It was a great experience. I got to refine the open-campaign format I started with my last game, Corsairs of the Arbalest. I wrote a couple house rules to facilitate casual play and adding new players to a running game, while rewarding regular players.

Sw/oN was a great toolkit for this campaign and I'm glad to confirm that the game has a solid baseline to build upon. Now I'm hyped to read what improvements were made on the second edition.

Here are some notes and house-rules y wrote for my game. The format: characters are agents for a company that, on paper, outsource ship crew services, but in actuality pretty much run any mission for their employees.

Every session they get three mission briefings to choose from, with their requirements and payment. Missions are short enough to end on one session.

Between sessions we do a downtime month where the characters recover, re-equip and train.
