Can pore of hell be scribed on something portable, like a tower shield, and carried somewhere?

I would say: Yes, but it cannot get too close to another Pore.

So long as this tower shield is wide enough to support a ten foot portal, sure.

+Nepene Nep The Area of Effect is 10 feet, and the wielder of the Tower Shield may be subject to the effect--the sigil itself is not.

+Mason Munden Yeah, I'm just noting that as a GM, I'd impose some limitations to the power, because otherwise it would just become a spammable smite that anyone could do. Like requiring a 10 foot area to put the sigil. A godbound of might could toss such things, but a mortal would have more difficulty.

I'd let it fly, in my game.

Yeah I am concerned with players make an infinite amount of them.

They'd need a way to carry around the tower shields, keeping them 10ft apart at all times.

+Mason Munden Creating an army of 1000 villagers who can carry and throw tower shields is probably a 1 dominion expenditure. That's now a very hard hitting army.

+Nepene Nep Not quite: creating creatures is an Impossible Change.

You can use an existing town, and recruit people there. Godbound have enough power that taking over a small village isn't usually that hard.

That's not creating an army, though.

The book notes that with an appropriate word training 1000 people to be elite 2HD warriors is plausible. You do so, arm each with a shield of pore of hell, and then each individual can now do xd6 damage per attack.

Yes, but you're not creating them wholecloth. Thus; you're not "creating" the army. You're conscripting.

Furthermore: there's nothing to say that a tower shield would even protect a creature from a divine spell which is meant to kill things nearby.

Another added caveat would be keeping them out of 10-feet of one another would be logistically difficult, if not impossible. They'd need to keep perfect marching order, and likely be immediately killed like kamikaze lemmings by the explosions. The densest known packing of 1000 10-ft circles would be a nice tidy area of 381,991.6 feet. That's fortunately only a diameter of 697.4 feet, which isn't super wide/large, but it would need to be perfect. The pores cannot be within 10 feet of one another.

I would say that it would dispel the affected pores, but a less kind GM could say that instead it just explodes, setting off a violent chain reaction by the panic of the mortals who are being forced to try to be a walking, breathing MOAB, exploding the entire terrible plan. It is also possible that the same unkind GM would ask you to excuse yourself from the table for having one of the least humane possible plans I have ever heard of.
